Puttur: Accident near Kadaba - ten injured, five serious

Puttur, May 21: A collision occurred between a Toofan jeep and a car at Bajakere near Aittoor, Kadaba, on Friday May 20. Ten persons travelling by both these vehicles suffered injuries in the accident, out of whom five are in serious condition.

The injured persons are, Siddique (31), Salaam (32), Shankarappa (65), Neelavva (28), Gangamma (35), Yellamma (45), Jagadish (28), Vasant (26), Shashikala (22), and Puttumonu.

Close relatives from near Hubballi had hired Toofan jeep for undertaking pilgrimage. When the pilgrims were returning after visiting Horanadu and Subrahmanya temples, their jeep hit a Maruti Ritz car belonging to people from Jogibettu, Uppinangady, which was moving towards Kadaba from Uppinangady.

The injured were taken in local vehicles to Kadaba community hospital. After treating them there, they were sent to hospitals at Puttur and Mangaluru for treatment in the three ambulances.
