Mangaluru, May 21:" The results of the five state assembly elections indicate that it is 'BJP- free India' and not 'Congress free India'," said former union minister B Janardhana Poojary.

Poojary was addressing the press meet at district Congress party office here Saturday May 21.

"In Assam, Congress is in the second position as an opposition with winning 26 seats. In Tamil Nadu, BJP has not won a single seat but Congress is in opposition with alliance with DMK. In Kerala, Congress has secured 22 seats while the BJP got a single seat. And after the CPI (M), the Congress has stood second and is an opposition party. In West Bengal, Congress has won 44 seats but BJP has secured only 3 seats. In Puducherry, Congress has won 15 seats but no seats for BJP. Hence the results of 5 assembly state elections are an indication of 'BJP free India',” Poojary added.

“Voters didn't give importance to Modi's speech. Modi should stop lying. There is no development and Modi has no control over the party and party leaders never care him," Poojary slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. .

Supporting Congress leader Digvijay Singh's statement which said that Congress needs surgery more than the introspection, Poojary said “Sonia Gandhi should continue as the president of the Congress party and Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi should be made general secretaries. People wish to see Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi in Priyanka. Priyanka should be made the in-charge of Uttar Pradesh the biggest state. Also she should be made chief ministerial candidate from there."

Congratulating the people of Dakshina Kannada for observing voluntarily bandh on May 19, Poojary said "This voluntarily bandh is the role model to the entire nation. This is first time in the history such a bandh has been observed. This is the proper answer for the chief minister who has to take the courage of stopping the ongoing Yettinahole project. If he does not, then people will teach him the lesson."

Poojary came down heavily on health minister UT Khader for supporting the Yettinahole project and said addressing Khader “Do you think that are you the only intelligent person and people are fools? People have decided to send home those who support the Yettinahole project."

On remarks made by UT Khader against BBMP corporator Ramesh and calling Ramesh as 'mentally ill' and should be admitted to the mental hospital for levelling allegations against Khader, Poojary said “Ramesh has made serious allegations against Khader. Khader has made statements which attract defamation case against him. Is Khader conscious? While talking, one should be careful with words. I had expected a lot from Khader. He should control his tongue and or else he will spoil his political future."

Poojary also criticised Congress leaders H K Patil, Dr Parameshwar and Anjaneya for their remarks in the recent past especially that of Anjaneya who had likened private schools as brothels.
