New Delhi, May 22 (Agencies) : Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi has been appointed Lt Governor of Puducherry.

Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi was on Sunday appointed Lt Governor to Puducherry by President Pranab Mukherjee, news agency PTI reported.

Bedi, who served in the police force for over 30 years, had unsuccessfully contested the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections on a BJP ticket. She was earlier a part of the India Against Corruption movement led by activist Anna Hazare, but later parted ways.

In the recently concluded Puducherry elections, the Congress-DMK won 17 seats defeating the AIADMK which managed to secure just four in the 30-member assembly.

    Kiran Bedi had been an upright, sincere and a dedicated police officer for over 30 years. She rightly deserves this post unlike Sheila Dixit who was involved in scams and scandals.

    She was a BJP mole since 2010, acted like she was apolitical. For compromising her sincerity, she is getting rewarded.

    For BJP, it is a chanakya sutra and I do appreciate, their strategy.

    However, it is now just a matter of time, where nobody will ever be trusted in India. People can stoop to any levels is the moral of her story.

    Bedi has been made Lt. Governor of Puducherry as congress will be ruling there. She has been put there with the sole intention of causing trouble like the one in Delhi or swamy in RS. Bedi is a self serving person she might try to rule her own way. Contrary to Modi said when he came to power that my government is not confrontational but has proved that it is nothing but confrontational in every field.

    I have great respect for Dr. Kiran Bedi. Her reforms at the Tihar jail to transform the criminals, and to make them as productive citizens of the society was praiseworthy. When I read the personal interview of a friend of mine with her at the Tihar jail, it was very obvious that she is purely a secular minded person with a compassionate heart for the prisoners at the jail.

    Also, her work with the U.N. was very commendable. She is highly educated from the University, not a graduate of the Street Universities.

    Her decision to jump into the seat with the BJP in New Delhi was a terrible misguided decision. We all do such mistakes in life through overconfidence and overlooking. At the New Delhi elections, her role as the dedicated CM was far inferior in reality it was an exclusive Modiji/Amith Shaw show.

    Now she is the Governor of Puducherry. Hearty Congratulations.

    One more instance where sycophancy pays rich dividends.
    Just go through her tweets from the past few months, how she supported Modiji with praises for his man ki baath(today as well), how she supported the leg breaking party man with horses need to be removed from maintaining law & order to prevent their getting hurt!
    I tweeted her asking her to remove policemen from mob control with robots & drones to prevent them getting hurt in action, she blocked my comments only from then on.
    I had tweeted her to investigate why within 40 days Blacklisted company got the decision reversed & who got how much & who lobbied for the same, for tweeting Augusta Westlands needs to be investigated to find out how corruption took place under UPA.
    Please the King to get Awarded & to get plum posts seems to be the "mantra" these days. Acche Din has COME, Jai HO.
