Mangaluru, May 24: The last rites of Sri Ramananda Swamiji from Mookambika Math was held at the Math on Tuesday, May 24.

Hundreds of devotees and friends of Swamiji participated in the funeral.

Mangaluru, May 23: Sri Ramananda Swamiji from Mookambika Math near here passed away on Monday, May 23 in a city hospital.

Swamiji was 66.

Swamiji was reportedly suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure and was admitted to a private hospital where he breathed his last. He was hospitalised a month and half ago.

Swamiji was born in Mavinakatte near Badiyadka in Kasargod district. He had his primary education at Agalpady Sri Durgaparameshwari school. He had worked as  a bus conductor in a  private bus years back.

He has left behind numerous devotees.
