Mangaluru, May 23: When the water situation in the city is improving with better supply of water due to rains, Bunder ward in the city with abundant water wells and borewells is facing acute water scarcity. Residents have complained that they hardly get required water.

Bunder ward represented by corporator Ramiza Nasir has enough water sources but the corporation has given only one pickup van with a Sintex for the water distribution. The van is supplying the water throughout the ward round the clock.

But despite this, the water needs of the ward are not completely met. On the other hand since the ward is located on the lowland, the corporation pipe water too does not reach the residents of the ward.

"We are supplying water through one vehicle provided by the corporation in the ward. Social worker Majid has also given a vehicle for supply of water. This is not enough to meet the water needs of the ward. So I request the mayor and MCC officials to provide us more water tankers so that water needs of the residents can be met. I thank all the residents of the ward as they have been extremely supportive during the tough times.” Nasir said.
