About 85 percent of the promises made in the manifesto have been fulfilled. Ration cards have been distributed to about 20,695 families. In the district about 1,052 drinking water projects are undertaken. Under natural disaster until March 2016 about Rs 295.43 lacs has been spent." Rai added.

"Under social security schemes about 1,07,052 beneficiaries are being given monthly pensions. Under 94C scheme about 7,486 cases have been given sanction. Under the loan waiving scheme, about Rs 30.49 crores loan has been waived. Under the Vidyashree scheme, grants of Rs 340.5 lacs for students of backward community and Rs 456.84 lacs for minority students are given. Under Bidai scheme, Rs 468 lac assistance has been given to 936 beneficiaries . In Dakshina Kannada district, three electricity substations of 33/11 KV have been installed. In the district about seven multi village drinking water projects are under progress. In the third phase of 'Namma Grama Namma Rasthe', a 77.38 KM road has been constructed. In MCC under the third phase of Rs 100 crore, about 169 works are undertaken. To develop the naxal hit areas, Rs 413 lacs has been spent. About 2,995 endosulfan victims are given monthly pensions." Rai continued.

"Foundation stone is laid for deputy commissioner’s office at Padil at the cost of Rs 41 crore. International standard swimming pool is being built at the cost of Rs 4.99 lacs. Rs 15 crore is sanctioned for planetarium in Pilikula. Veterinary college is being built at Koila. Farmers are given interest free loan up to Rs three lacs and thereafter up to Rs 10 lacs at three percent interest. About 32 crore farmers loan is waived. Monthly pension of the artists who face difficulties has been increased to Rs 1,500. Under Bhagya Jyothi scheme, Rs 268 crore loan has been waived. To promote solar power, the solar policy is formed. The investor meet in Bengaluru was successfully organized. Handicapped loan has been waved." Rai said.

Sand Mafia

On being asked about the 'sand mafia' he said "There were some legal hurdles in CRZ and non- CRZ, now the problem is solved. Recently, sand which was illegally transported in the trains was caught and I urge the officials to investigate and punish the guilty."

Yettinahole

On the much controversial 'Yettinahole project' Rai commented that "The project was sanctioned in both the houses and discussion had to be done before the project was sanctioned. The protesters, waved the black flag when chief minster Siddaramaiah, came to the city. I question the protesters, why do not they wave black flags to Sadananda Gowda and Yeddyurappa who had initiated this project during their tenure?"

Deputy Commissioner informed the press persons that water level in Thumbay dam is increased to 6.2 ft so there will be continuous supply of water to the city from tomorrow onwards.

Other Congress leaders from the region were present.

We have elected you as our representatives from this land (not DVS or yeddy), hence it is your responsibility to do what is required for the people of the land. A person like you should not ask such ignorant questions. If you cannot discharge that responsibility, please step down, we will have somebody else to represent or fight our battle ourselves

boss... first you tell us what you have done to stop this. chumma blaming others will not help you to prove yourself from the district people. We know no political leaders are coming forward except the non powered folks like Vijaya Kumar, Janardhan poojary are raising their voice which is obviously unheard. So, now you Rai, please raise your voice or keep yourself shut. don't try to blame on others...

Infact,They are helping to form"Congress Mukth Karnataka". They know Cogress is falling and need surgery. Mr Rai is tired of cutting ribbon and no time to enjoy malai. They want to relax in Congress Mukth Karnataka.
They do not realise, tomorrow their grand children has to struggle for water and they would start cursing them. They know, now they can survive drinking Bisleri water but what about the people voted them to power all these years .

Whether it was initiated by BJP or Congress, being you both I mean you and U.T.Khader from the same district, why couldn't stop the project,if you are against the project and concern for the people of the district. Why do you point fingers at BJP?.Both of you have been elected by the people of this district and you know the implication very well on the people of the district once the project is implemented. Why can't you stop,if you really against it rather than playing a political drama.BJP and Congress, both parties are like the two faces of the same coin.Only you know the blame game and cutting the ribbons.Nothing else.Still both of you got enough time to think and act on Netravati project and stop it.Don't play on the lives of the people. How difficult it is,if you don't get the water in your house?.Have you ever experienced it or problems faced by the people? Because you can get it through your money and muscle power.

It is totally wrong to say that the BJP has done nothing wrong in the Yettinahole project as one of the readers has mentioned here. I can assure you they are as much to blame as the Congress. Both these parties are rogues, just the name is different. And why is this district in charge asking the people to waive black flags. I am asking him, as the people's representative, what has he done to stop this project? Why does he need the people's help now? Mr. Rai and Mr. Khader, you were born and brought up in this district, you live here, you breathe the air of this district, you drink the water of this district. Does it, therefore, not occur to you that you have to do something to stop this project that is sure to wreak havoc on the people here? Sadananda Gowda and Veerappa Moily, no doubt have started this project. Tell us Mr. Rai and Khader, are you with the people or are you against the people? If you are with the people, raise your voices against this project. We do not want drama here, we want action from your side. Nalin Katil has done enough drama. Enough is enough.

Ramanath rai and UT Kader both are behaving strange. entire Mangalore people are raising voice against nethravati project, but both these politicians do not feel the heat yet. I agree, there might have taken some mistake by previous govt. but it do not mean that you have to continue the same. is this an excuse? is that not your responsibility to correct rather supporting the project ? is money the only aim in politics? dear rai and khader sir, you and your ancestor survived with nethravathi water. please try to save her, do not play with the nature. ( I salute jannanna. at least he has has guts to raise voice.)

even if we paint black nothing will happen..black money already swallowed by all concerned irrespective of political party...now all these agitation common people have to be concerned.. If there was trust or confidence in project implementation sure all will have supported on linking of rivers but we know that there wont be proper planning and all will be in vain and no one will have water supply in the way projects uted by government until now.
