Bengaluru: Faith Lutheran Church razed - two arrested

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 28: A gang of miscreants attacked Faith Lutheran Church at Pillappa Garden third phase in the city and razed the structure to the ground. The gang which came to the church premises at around 11.30 pm on Thursday May 26 was armed with JCB and other equipment.

Relating to the incident, the police have arrested Patric (40) and Stevan (39), both from Pillanna Garden.

A person named James had been working in the church as security guard since the last three years. He had settled down in a small house he had built within the church premises with wife and two children. The attackers first entered the residence of James, posed threats to him, and then demolished the church building, it is said. They then pushed James and his family members outside before razing to the ground their residence. The miscreants then fled from the spot, the policemen said.

The land where the church stands belongs to Patric. About a decade ago, he had given this land on rent for a few people from his community to run a catering service. Initially, a small shed had been built for running catering service. Thereafter, a small prayer hall was built for offering prayers. Patric too took part in these prayers in the past. In course of time catering business stopped and attempts were made by trouble mongers to usurp this land. Last week, suddenly, the name board, 'Faith Lutheran Church' was hung on the building. Patric took strong objection to this and asked the concerned to vacate. But his request was not complied with. Patric, angered by the defiance, hired a JCB to bring down the building on Thursday, it is gathered.

Meanwhile, the church management said that the real estate mafia is trying to grab the land. “Faith Lutheran church has been in this place for the last 30 years. The demolition is the handiwork of the land mafia, which is eying the BDA land that was allotted in 1988 to three religions for respective religious structures to come up. We have all the documents to support it and we will ensure that the Sunday prayers go on by setting up a temporary structure after clearing the debris,” Nimalan C, a founder member, told Deccan Chronicle.

If Patrick is the legal owner of this land, then what He did is Commendable. Today justice system takes minimum of ten years to solve the case. How did these Faithful People became Unfaithful. How did they hung the board without Owners permission and also did they had permit from the City Office to run place of Worship where People gather. Everywhere nowadays either Educational Institution or Place of Worship comes up. One robs in name of God while other one robs in name of Education. Both Collect Donations and live Royal Life.

    Ramesh,

What do you grasp from all these incidents and default public reaction ? Don't you think BD/RSS/VHP have actually come into wrong books ? They have done such degrading acts (i.e. hoisting Paki flag, painting a sacred area of their own in green) in order to get others into trouble, no sane man will immediately give them a clean chit.

Instead of the cry-victim that you are doing, you should wash your wrong deeds until people begin to trust you and that is by being innocent victim, no other way left. Well, you invited this unto you, nobody initially had directed you at desecrating others places of worship, with your own intuition you did it. I have no words of sympathy, none at all !

Religion is nothing become a business houses. To please god..people are doing many dombarattas. It's so simple..do your work perfectly in good way..with what ever religion you associated..god will shower bless on you. If you do all wrong things even god is not happy. Don't do the things to please others. Karam Karo..Fal Na gina. Your good things never be wasted..will bear fruits once in a life time..where ever you are. Looks like next war is on the basis of religion. People made religion complicated. No body wants to learn good things from religion...a sad fact.

..MODI should immediately resign for attack on religious places and minority, intolerance..but wait..why no outrage still!!..as names already published & they are from same community, people make difference between criminal activities & communal incident..if its from others for the same issue, by now whole hell would have fallen down saying its communal..truth is many Roman catholics complain about prayer groups..many of my freinds says these groups became nuisance, whole night they create problems in locality..they are also outraged that present Govt has recently given some kind of support to them (dont know what actually it is)..

As per law, nobody can erect a structure anywhere and call it a Church. To build any place of worship, irrespective of which religion it belongs to, a legal permission is essential.

Whatever demolition took place here refers to personal property, not a registered Church and action as per law needs to be taken.

LAW IS IN ITS PLACE, BUT WITH POWER OF VITAMIN M EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

In fact, installing a small idol in an unoccupied place with some religious symbols is one of the easiest modus operandi to usurp land!

We are so deep rooted in irrationality that majority would not dare to touch that place for fear of incurring the wrath of that god!

Incidentally, those religious guys who wanted to usurp this land might have prayed a lot to this particular god, but Patrick's power surmounted it!

Thanks God..in hinduism nobody goes to such extent. Are giving everybody there due and are worshipping each and everything that associated with nature. After all nature belongs to creator's creation. Everybody is happy with it a main fact. From the childhood parents are instructing childrens to worship god related to all religions. That's the reason people in india blessed from all angles..and it shows automatically endorsed by god.
