Mangaluru, May 28: District incharge minister, B Ramanath Rai described the two years of the Narendra Modi government as disappointing because it had failed on all fronts, including on the black money issue.

Addressing a press meet here at circuit house on Saturday May 28, Rai said "Its been two years since the Modi led NDA came to power. They accused that congress governments in the past 60 years have done nothing for the development of the nation. On the contrary Modi promised to deposit Rs 15 lac in every citizens account by getting the black money back. But as of now not a single rupee has been deposited nor any action has been taken to get back the black money. The union government has failed on every front, the prices of commodities and goods are increasing day by day."

"The price per barrel crude oil was 140 dollars during Manmohan Singh led UPA government but it was effectively maintained and was given at a balanced price. And now the same costs 40 dollars per barrel but the benefit of this has not been passed on to the public. This is a U-turn government, they made false accusations and protested against every decision when UPA was in power. But the same decisions are taken forward by this government, just like how they opposed FDI but now they have gone a step ahead and increased the percentage of FDI, they criticized Aadhar card but it is made mandatory for availing many facilities." Rai added. 

"Dakshina Kannada has been awarded as the Swacch Gram by the central government. Swacch gram is the continuation of Nirmal gram by the UPA government. They have just changed the name but this program was started back when UPA was in power. An IAS official was transferred because he praised Nehru, who went to jail for the nation and worked towards the development of the nation as a prime minister. This government is surviving just because of marketing and advertisement. They have spent Rs 1000 crore on marketing. This government is working towards empowering the capitalists and not the the poor and underprivileged." Rai said.

"Mangaluru airport, NMPT, KREC engineering college, railway station, national highways, bridges, MRPL, MCF, SEZ and many other developmental works were taken during Srinivas Mallya, Janardhan Poojary and Vinaykumar Sorake's tenure. What has the current member of parliament done?", he questioned.

"They talk about many projects but they have not been able to start the work on Shiradi ghats second phase. BJP's scheme is to help the upper caste and cheat the under privileged there by divide the society." Rai concluded.

On being asked whether there is a need for change of leadership and Priyanka Gandhi to take charge, Rai said "Everyone of us wishes that Priyanka Gandhi should enter politics."
