Daijiworld Media Network-Mangaluru

Mangaluru, May 28: The chairperson of state children's rights commission Kripa Amar Alva has sparked a row by speaking over the phone while the Nadageethe (state anthem) of Karnataka was being sung at the town hall on Saturday, May 28.

It was the gathering of the Sthree Shakthi members of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu districts and the state anthem was sung at the commencement of the programme.

Ministers of the state government Umashree, Mahadeva Prasad, Ramanatha Rai and Abhayachandra Jain along with many other dignitaries were paying their respect by standing.

Half way through the anthem, Kripa Alva received a call and started speaking over the phone. In between the call, one of the dignitaries pointed at her mistake. She realized her mistake and hid the phone later with a smile.

As the chairperson of the state level commission the disrespect shown towards the state anthem by Kripa Alva has been disliked by many.

Dear All, Madam is Chairperson of Karnataka state children's rights commission and her mobile # is available in state public website. In this country, child abuse and abuse of law is going on all the time and people tend to call her for help. I have called her yesterday from Chennai for an emergency child visitation rights and I was not aware of madam's schedule. Madam is protecting the welfare of the children. We should look into positive side. If someone get sms about something danger happened to your family members, do you focus. National anthem and importance of children life are equally important. Madam is not in political party and her role is protect right of the children. Kindly do not make it big and these may force madam to leave official cell to someone when she attend the function at the cost of children welfare where there is a need. Thank you.

This should be probed well, one never knows if there was a family emergency (possible). Family comes first when you are not at the border fighting an enemy.

Are we in a communist country?

I don't see any harm done by her answering her mobile considering that a lot of people answer their mobiles even when prayers are going on at the place of worship.

Do you mean, because many people do wrong things, what she did needs to be justified, applauded?? Just because many do wrong things, we can not consider one more wrong as right.

Only 'desh bhakths' & 'feku bhakths' can use mobile during national anthem.. they also can utter any statement on nation including mocking our country on foreign land... but others, 'Be in your limits'!

By the way, I personally don't acknowledge such acts during national anthem. FYI

watching porn is bad during assembly. but this does not effect tax payers money being wasted.
Where as 2-3 sessions of parliament was completely wasted due to Ghandhi family ego issue. the entire nation was held captive, 100 of cores of tax payers money went into water. But that is okay for you. and yes you are right that you may not be a Bhakth.

I proudly say that I am Bhakth, a serious Desh Bhakth, who thinks of you and everyone else around me. I have encountered more pain than anyone else in the society because I am in the general category and have no-one carrying for me or others who are with me.

N M your comments are filled with hatred and venom in most of the cases. support development don't support politics that polarize people for vote banks.
One final question, if you had a Hindu neighbor, would you call him as Bhakth

By now, almost all of us have become conversant with operation of smartphones.

Hence, let all of us be very careful to give utmost respect to our National as well State Anthem and not do anything which destroys the sanctity/dignity of the occasion (when the Anthem is being played). This would be the most appropriate and smartest thing to do.

Similar blunder by Modi had taken place on foreign soil, where a Russian official had to butt in to thwart further embarrassment. I don't think it was intentional though, just lack of etiquette and savoir-faire but certainly was as funny as Harvard Swamy blessing the bride by tying Mangal sutram.
