Kalaburagi, May 29: On the night of Friday May 27, huge blast was set off inside the JMFC court hall at Afzalpur near here with the help of cooking gas cylinder. A number of furniture, computers, documents etc were burnt down as a result. The electrical wiring network also was thoroughly damaged and all the walls of the court were burnt as a result of which their colour changed into black.

An inspection revealed that some miscreants had entered a hotel functioning from a shed inside the court compound by removing the tin sheets of its roof. They brought a cylinder of the hotel to the court hall. They removed the regulator of the cylinder and once gas began to spew out, they ignited fire and fled from the area, police sources explained.

Deputy superintendent of police of Aland sub-division, P D Gajakosh, said that preliminary inquiry has revealed that miscreants had purposefully exploded the gas cylinder inside Afzalpura civil court hall. He added that more details are being collected and the police are hopeful of finding out those behind this blast and reasons behind this act.

Kalburgi is famous for negative terror. It was here that in a certain group member's house a conspiracy to hoist Paki flag was hatched.

There should be thorough investigation to ascertain any links.
