‘Tribute to Legends’ music show enthrals houseful audience, Poonam Dhillon charms

Mangaluru, May 30: ‘Tribute to Legends’ of yesteryears, a much awaited musical event was held on Sunday, May 29 at Town Hall in city. The show was a houseful.

Celebrity Hindi film actress and former Miss India Poonam Dhillon was the guest of honour for the event. Dhillon inaugurated the musical show along with R Francis Fernandes from Dubai.

R Francis Fernandes entrepreneur from Dubai who was the chief guest said he always loved music and his parents also supported him and with their blessing he managed holding this mega show.

Poonam Dillon in her short speech said that she was happy to come to Mangaluru for the first time. She appreciated the organisers for keeping the music spirit so live in Mangaluru. She also thanked Francis for his efforts to bring up the show of this magnitude.

“I am a fan of these singers who songs are sung here. I have met all of them except Mohammed Rafi.” She added.

Appreciating the beauty of Town Hall, Poonam said “You have a very beautiful hall.”

Poonam congratulated Sonali, daughter of singer Srikanth for scoring 97 % in PU recently.

Renowned and experienced singers Srikanth, Anitha D’Souza, Ranjan, Shafi And Akhila rendered their voices in the show. Melodious Hindi hit songs of yesteryears by legends like Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Latha Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Mukesh and others were sung during the show.

Prizes were given to audience for answering music related questions.

Leanza D’Souza compeered Pappan provided live music with his musicians.

    I did not go but my family said show was houseful and there was no place to Sit and was compleletely overfull. need to know next show date.

    Really appreciate and thank Mr. Francis and family for supporting such a musical event which showcased the local talent which is on par with that in Bollywood. Poonam looks evergreen.

    Sorry to miss this show but I attended a similar one by the same artistes 'Sargam' some time back at the same venue which was mind blowing. Apart from music there was superb 'shayari' from the compere whose photo appears on the top of this report. He was excellent then. Unfortunately his name is not mentioned anywhere in the report.

    Looking forward to such shows in Dubai too.

    Yes these are certainly reminders of Ashok Charan Nites.

    Not Seen This much crowd in any show. Jam Packed houseful. All seats were full .People were standing on the gallery Floor to watch the show.It was a true tribute to legends . High Class Organizing with true animation.
