Mangaluru residents Vishwanath and Rohith Kumar, Bantwal's Gururaj and Moodbidri's Santhosh Poojary are the arrested. The suspects after telephoning to the mobile of Raghavendra had demanded Rs 2 lac. Raghavendra had agreed to pay the money and asked the suspects to come to his house.

The suspects had come in Ritz car to Raghavendra's house on Saturday evening, May 28. The police who were informed about it in advance, were waiting in the house of the priest. They arrested the accused when they arrived.

Priest Raghavendra is said to have driven away evil spirits from a house in Bantwal and received Rs 50,000. However, as the house people did not get relief, they had asked him to return the money. He had refused. The house people had informed about it to Gururaj who is known to them. Gururaj accompanied with three of his friends had tried to get the money from the priest after threatening him on Saturday. However they were arrested in the act.

Just see the foolishness of these gullible people that they readily paid 50k to this tantrik to drive out the evil souls, but we're not afraid of his supernatural powers that he would send more deadly spirits by help of tantra/mantra if they dared claim the money back! In fact the victims claimed 1.5 lacs extra as a fine for the tantriks botched operation to drive away evil spirits!

Black Magic and Black mailing goes hand in hand.
Black Magician plays with the lives of those who want black magic performed and also with the victim thus making money out of both.
These temple\church etc. priests involving in such activities is not at all good and should be condemned.
Our CM is trying his best to educate people against such activities and these priests of any religion should extend their co-operation in this regard.

With the blackmailers, the priest should be arrested too in this case as he has cheated his "Customer"...!!!

Black magic is an ancient science goes back to stone age and Egypt. It is still a challenge for modern science. 99% of the universe contains black mass not visible to normal eyes. Only few knows the real trick and rest dongis.

Black magician is equivalent or more dangerous than an extortionist!

50k for driving out evil spirits, OMG, just imagine how much this crook might be minting!

Probably, he might have given a money back guarantee, and the gullible clients were right in claiming it back along with fine!LOL!

Gentlemen like prof Narendra Nayak are doing a yeoman job in educating and creating awareness among the gullible!

We are lagging behind in progress mostly because of such charlatans, who are prospering across all religions fleecing the gullible and minting money!

Just few days ago there was a report where a tantrk sexually assaulted a minor girl where their parents had taken her for some occult troubles

BTW, black magic and associated activities are a crime and attract suitable punishment under the black magic act for which he should be charged, further investigations should be done as to how many poor/innocents/gullible he has fleeced!
