Anupama threatens to release minister's 'midnight' CD - CM intervenes

Bengaluru, Jun 8 (DHNS) : With public sympathy in DySP Anupama Shenoy’s favour, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday directed DG&IGP Om Prakash not to process her resignation.

The chief minister also asked Prakash not to get provoked by Anupama’s statements on social media.

In a Facebook post, the Kudligi DySP asked Labour Minister P T Parameshwar Naik when he is quitting.

The status in Kannada read: “P T Parameshwar Naik, I have resigned. When are you resigning?” She said people have demanded Naik’s arrest and it led to a law and order problem too. In another post, she talked about releasing a CD against the minister, which, she claimed, ‘could be watched only after midnight’.

Sources said Siddaramaiah has sought an explanation in person from Naik over these allegations. The police department is also mulling disciplinary action against Anupama for her ‘extreme’ comments on social media.

Six months ago, Anupama was transferred for putting Naik’s call on hold. Following public outcry, the transfer order was cancelled.

Earlier in the day, Siddaramaiah said he had “nothing to do” with Anupama’s resignation. “The department concerned will look into it,” he said. The change in stand appears to come following growing criticism of the government on social media for not taking action against Naik.

“I have seen Anupama’s resignation and the department is examining it. I have directed Ballari SP R Chetan to ask her to withdraw it,” Prakash told media. “Anupama Shenoy is our officer and she worked in the department. Hence, it is our duty to request her to reconsider her decision,” he said.

The chief minister’s directive has stopped the police department from recommending disciplinary action against Anupama. Prakash said he cannot comment on the disciplinary action against her as he has not seen her Facebook posts. “The department will consider every aspect of the episode and take necessary action,” he said, declining to give details.

A senior officer said, “Anupama’s conduct has not gone down well with the top brass. She embarrassed the higher-ups by forwarding her resignation through a constable. Her comments on Facebook project the department negatively. After the constabulary’s protest, the department was not ready to face a second embarrassment.”

An SP-rank officer said Anupama was emotional and immature at times. “She reacts quickly and emotionally to any situation. She felt suffocated after her conflict with Labour Minister P T Parameshwar Naik. She was contemplating resigning for the last couple of months,” he said. Regarding her request to be transferred to Mangaluru or Udupi, he said the DGP’s office did not receive any letter in this regard.

contd.... for the grave lapse of not meeting him. The ordeal of Bheemanagowda, the officer who was the object of the minister’s wrath, didn’t end with the humiliation. He was transferred four times in a span of one year to Hadagali, Gudekote, Thambrahalli and Kamalapura police stations

Very little is known about Parameshwara Naik’s performance as minister for labour in the Karnataka government. From the facts surfacing, apparently the minister has little time to attend to his ministerial duties, after attending to punishing police officers whose total obedience to him is suspect in his eyes.
He is learnt to have also got a range forest officer named Duddagi, transferred for cracking down on illegal sand mining in Kudligi taluk as the sand and quarry mafia had put pressure on the police for registering a false atrocity case against Duddagi.

Siddus statement that he has nothing to do with the Anupamas resignation, is highly irresponsible and shows he is unworthy to be the CM of the state. As the CM he is responsible for the state and the people. While it is provided beyond doubt that the minster is the cause of her resignation, he statement only shows his open support for this arrogant minister. If he cannot and unable to perform his responsibilities for the state, it is right for him to say so and resign. Another reason for Siddus behavior is that the TPS is reported to very close to him and he does not want to take any action against him

I am also surprised at the statements given the top brasses of the department, Instead of encouraging her for standing up against the injustice, they have reprimanded her, This only shows how much boot licking they could be doing. They should forget that the they get loyalty and honor when they stand up for truth. When they dont, they lose everything and do not even expect it.

After reading the injustice meted by the corrupt Congress Government to this honest officer to Ms. Shenoy, knowing her humble background and the arrogance of the labor minister, Naik, I could not control my anger and had to write this Please excuse me for the lengthy comment Specially knowing the humble background of the lady where her father still runs a small canteen and mother rolls beedis for their livelihood. The very fact should prove the honesty of this officer.

What comes out of all this is, the labor minister T Parameswara Naik (TPN) is the main culprit of this act and Siddu should immediately suspend him from the minstership and also from the party. The party is already sinking and such acts will only lift the honor of the party in the eyes of the people. Last time when this SP was suspended by this minister, I had requested the readers to mail to Sonia Gandhi to tell her how her ministers are treating police officers as servants. I am not sure how much that worked however the lady was reinstated. Let us try the same thing again by mailing soniagandhi[at]sansad[dot]nic[dot]in. Let her take some moral responsibility for this karmakanda. In the last case, it was reported that she had sought report from the party on the conduct of the minister and hence that was one of the reason for her reinstatement

Some on the TPS, He is from the Lambani Banjara caste was elected from a Hadagali a Scheduled Caste nominated constituency. He is known to be a transfer specialist. Prior to transferring Ms. Shenoy in Jan16, had publicly humiliated a sub inspector a year ago apparently has a track record of humiliating police officers who do not kowtow to him, and having them transferred. The minister had publicly humiliated a Sub-Inspector a year ago, for the grave lapse of note meeting him, Naik openly threatened that he would get the officer sacked and stripped him naked. The minister had publicly humiliated a Sub-Inspector a year ago, contd...

This is entirely wrong step taken by her. If she has a guts to reveal politicians hidden activities, without blackmailing let her do promptly. Bring all those into the court of law. But instead of doing so, she simply put something in her blog & deleting the message, which is purely out of control. If I would be a CM, i will definitely take charge on her & dismiss from her duty. It's nothing but a sabotaging the Govt machine, what do you say?

I see it as one of the direction for reaching Congress Mukhth Desh. Pack up time... no a days all these illegal , dominating attitudes of the ministers, stress they give to these IAS / IPS officers, corruption routed... all are evident... many instances comes out with the help of latest channels like facebood and whatsapp... so these Dongi ministers are going crazy... not sure what they are doing ... what they need to hide... and all. The honourable and the captain of all these Mr. Nidde Ramaiah is trying his best to safeguard all these evil politicians... But no more sir... we all know the truth and it's evident now.... Chalo.. ghar chalo time soon. Try to buy some property in Italy and also the citizenship there. or else... no India ke rahoge.. na Italike... Maam ji ( Sonia ) will not treat you at her Italy residence... don't have that wrong assumption... she and hey naughty pappu can fly off to Italy easily... but you people will be on roads... remember.

Please don't interfere in these IPS / IAS officers works or actions... they are matured enough to handle the stuffs... you safeguard yourself hiding somewhere.

Please forget every thing when time comes God will bless you, till that time please do your best and follow the chain of command. Do not trust any political party leaders.

In any department like defence, police this feeling of suffocation is felt by junior staff as their higher ups command them with reason or without.
We have seen these episodes in many movies or serials too, as long as a department that want discipline & obeying command is supreme notwithstanding your personal feelings or freedom to exercise your will these clashes do occur & those who think it is too much interference from higher ups while discharging your duties impartially.
Many officers do know their limitations & want to survive more than become heroes in the eye of public. But they are treading a dangerous line like Gujarat Police too found to their disadvantage, those who toed the line got promoted & those who chose to tell the truth got transferred & dismissed from service with fake cases hoisted against them.
The lesson here is people's memories are short while politicians always are capable to ruin or help those who toe their line. Aap is the only party being a toddler is not doing all these, but nobody knows when they too follow the same path as absolute power always corrupts those who wield it.

On another note, Siddu might have thought he was a clever politician, but forgot that this officer is an IPS and not an uneducated citizen. With all the actions his wanted to take, now he is s#it scared and is wanting to compromise. He is also aware that the day she kicks the butt's of these politicians, they shall never be able to tolerate it. Now Siddu is shit scared and can see his himself in a dire situation. Hope, the sincere officer gets a good support from the public and the dept. If they can salute, they also know how to how to bring the culprits on track... Great work officer. Jai Hind !
