Udupi, Jun 10: Union minister for commerce, Nirmala Sitharaman, paid obeisance at Srikrishna Math here on Thursday June 9. The way she behaved there gave amble evidence about the fact that she gives lot of importance to procedures and of her deep devotion.

At the time she went in, she sent others ahead and had the Darshan of the Lord through the window where she stood in deep devotion for a few minutes. Evidently, she was overcome by feeling of devotion towards the presiding deity. She asked photographers not to click her photographs during this period. Thereafter, when meeting Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji, she chose to sit on the floor instead of using the chair offered to her. She also explained to minister of state in the union ministry of home affairs,Haribhai Chaudhary, who had accompanied her, about the way Lord's idol reached here from Dwaraka, Kanakadasa's story, Vadiraja Swamy, fifth record Paryaya of the current Swamiji, etc.

During the period Nirmala was here, she refused to field questions posed by media persons, reminding them that this was a private visit.

SC Morcha national president, Dushyantkumar Gautham, zilla panchayat president, Dinakar Babu, vice president, Sheela K Shetty, former MLAs, K Raghupathi Bhat and Lalaji Mendon and several leaders were present.
