Kundapur, June 10: A young girl has complained to police against two men who allegedly have blackmailed her and circulated her nude video in social media.

The incident happened in Siddapur in Kundapur taluk. Police have arrested Santhosh Poojary (24) as per complaint by the girl. Sudarshan Shetty (32), who had secretly shot the video, is absconding.

Sudarshan Shetty had accompanied his friend, young girl to Kollur temple three years ago. Following nature's call to the girl, they took a room on rent at Kollur. Sudarshan Shetty who remained outside the room secretly took the video when the girl was having bath and changing her clothes. They went back to their houses after that.

Sudarshan Shetty went to work abroad after few days. There was no communication between the two during the last three years.

Sudarshan had returned to his home town about eight months ago. After that, Sudarshan’s friend Santhosh has been blackmailing the girl regarding the video urging her to come with him. He had threatened to send the video to WhatsApp number if the girl did not accompany him. When the girl ignored him, he circulated her nude video in the social media.

Santhosh is said to have been employed in a hardware shop. The girl's brother also got to know about the video sent to WhatsApp.

The girl then complained to the police against Sudarshan for secretly recording the video and Santhosh Poojary for circulating it.

The police who swung into action arrested Santhosh Poojary. He is said to have given confusing statements while being questioned. He has not given details of how he received the video. Meanwhile primary suspect Sudarshan is still at large. Police have spread a net for his arrest. More important details may come out after the arrest of Sudarshan.

A case stands registered in Shankaranarayana police station. Investigation is in progress.
