'The Voice' judges pay tribute to Christina Grimmie

Los Angeles, June 12 (IANS): The judges on "The Voice", where Christina Grimmie finished third in 2014, have paid tribute to the late singer.

She was shot dead after a concert in Orlando, Florida, by a male attacker who proceeded to shoot himself, on Friday evening.

The attacker had no connection to the pop star but had plans to kill her, Florida police said.

The judges sent their condolence and condemned the deadly shooting that took her life, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Adam Levine, Grimmie's ex-mentor on the show, wrote on Facebook: "(Levine's wife) Behati (Prinsloo) and I are absolutely devastated and heartbroken by Christina Grimmie's tragic death. Our hearts go out to her family".

Blake Sheton tweeted: "I'm stunned and disgusted and heartbroken that we lost that sweet little girl. Keeping Christina Grimmie's family in my heart and mind".

Christina Aguilera mourned the young singer as well.

"So sad (to hear about the) passing of Christina Grimmie. Beautiful member of 'The Voice family' and true fighter. My heart goes out to her family, friends and fans," Aguilera tweeted.

Pharrell Williams called Grimmie's death a "tragic loss".

"This is a tragic loss. My heart goes out to Christina Grimmie's family, friends and all the people that she touched," Williams wrote.
