Doha: Niyaz Ahmed elected president of KMCA

Doha, Jun 13: The Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association convened its annual general body meeting followed by Iftar on June 9.















































The AGM began with recitation of Holy Quran by Faakhir Fayaz. Saquib Raza Khan the vice president welcomed the gathering. Mohammed Zia Ul Haq presented the annual report. Fayaz Ahmed presented the annual financial report. President Niyaz Ahmed thanked the members for their support, and requested them to be more active in community service.

Later the management committee of 2015-2016 was dissolved, and election for new committee for 2016-2017 was held. The general body anonymously elected Niyaz Ahmed as the president of KMCA for the 4th term. The prominent community activist Abdulla Monu Mohiddin was elected as the vice president and Saquib Raza Khan as the general secretary.

The following are the office bearers of KMCA for the term 2016-2017.

1. Niyaz Ahmed – president
2. Abdulla Monu Mohiddin – vice president
3. Saquib Raza Khan – general secretary
4. Syed Ashfaq – joint secretary
5. Aisha Rafique – cultural secretary
6. Mohammed Zia Ul Haq – sports secretary
7. Fayaz Ahmed – treasurer
8. Masooda Ibraiz – gead of ladies wing
9. Ahmed Saeed Assadi – co-ordinator (public relations)
10.Ibraiz Khan – cooordinator (special needs and charity)
11.Ismail Aboobakker – co-ordinator (logistics)
12.Dana Shaik – children’s event co-ordinator
13.Mustafa – member management committee
14.Feroz Khan – member management committee

On being elected for the 4th term, Niyaz Ahmed thanked the members for showing faith in him, and requested them to come up with ideas for giving quality service to the community.

It was followed by an Islamic lecture on the importance of Ramadan by a prominent Indian, the founder member and past president of KMCA Syed Abdul Hye.

Around 300 people with family participated in the Iftar, which included prominent Indian community member Hassan Choughale, M I Farid, Girish Kumar (president-ICC), Arvind Patil (president-ICBF), Sinu Pillai (vice president-ICC), Diwakar Poojary (general secretary-ICC), Mahesh Gowda (joint secretary-ICBF), Ravi Shetty (president – Tulu Koota), H K Madhu (president-KSQ), Navnit Shetty (president- Bunts Qatar), Suhaib Ahmed (president –SKMWA), Arun Kumar, Dr Sanjay Kudari, Subramanya Hebbegalu, Anil Boloor, and founder members of KMCA, Rafique Saheb, Ibrahin Baery, Abdulla Khatri and many others.

The MC of the event was Saquib Raza Khan and the event was coordinated by Ahmed Saeed Assadi.
