Thieves steal Rs 50 lac worth jewellery from ex-MLA's house

Bengaluru, Jun 14: Thieves made away with gold jewellery worth Rs 50 lac from the house of former MLA G K Venkatashiva Reddy, at Sadashivanagar in Bengaluru.

The incident occurred when Reddy had gone out of station along with his family members. The family had left home on Saturday morning and learned about the theft when they returned on Sunday afternoon.

Sadashivanagar police have registered a case. Police said that theft could have been committed by professional thieves. They are examining CCTV footage installed in front of the house. The footage shows a person entering the house in the wee hours of Sunday.

Reddy is a former JD(S) legislator from Srinivaspur in Kolar district.
