Dubai: GVOM semifinalists in UAE undergo training in singing

Media release

Dubai, Jun 15: Gulf's most prestigious singing competition Gulf Voice of Mangalore geared up with new excitement. Gulf countries have started to prepare their candidates for the GVOM title.

Being a tough competition for all participants, UAE chapter organizers of GVOM conducted a training session for the twelve top singers of UAE as a preparation for GVOM UAE chapter semifinals. The selection round of GVOM finals will be held at Bahrain this year in November.

Famous music teacher and professional vocal trainer Joseph Moras conducted the seminar. Alwyn Pinto welcomed the gathering and presented bouquet of flowers to trainer Joseph Moras.

The seminar included basic vocal practice, respiration control, various modulations of singing, creating chemistry between singer and musician, improvisation notes for singers and maintaining quality of singing.

Six male and six female semifinalists of GVOM UAE along with other interested singing talents participated in the seminar. The session was held at famous entrepreneur James Mendonca's residence and GVOM coordinator Roshan D’Silva compered the programme.

Mahan Guru Joseph Moras has built a fantastic resource on his own “MELODIA” School in Dubai – UAE for developing singers. I think it is a superb way for young singers to establish good vocal technique when they have no contact with a good teacher.
As we are looking at resources with some of the regional talented kids, It is so hard to find them good teachers. Most people are just teaching repertoire these days and so many of the kids in work with simply sing the wrong way.
This “Melodia” School of Mr. Joseph Moras is for singers of all ages, from beginners to professionals who want a foundation for life!
People training under him will never have to experience hoarse throats, nodules and voice problems of any kind!
This Melodia system is most useful in the Education system who want to help talented learners, choirs etc to develop their voices using correct breathing techniques and skill, rather than brute force which seems to be so common amongst the singers of today.
I salute you Sir Mr. Joseph Maras our GURU for his outstanding power of Melodia,
Also thanks to Mr. James Mendonca - great entrepreneur for his good hospitality/sponsorship/support.
“Dev Borem Korun” Mr. Alwyn Pinto – president of M.K. for his good arrangements/support.
Best wishes to all GVOM singers

I got a gut feeling that this time 82% of the prizes are going UAE way.
