CM's Hublot watch controversy - Dr Girish Verma claims he gifted it

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jun 16 : Dr Girish Chandra Verma, who reportedly gifted the Hublot wrist watch costing several lacs of rupees to chief minister (CM), Siddaramaiah, was grilled by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday June 15. After the fact that the CM was wearing a costly watch that was not bought by him became public, a hue and cry had been raised in the state over its origin after former chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, pursued the matter aggressively.

The ACB summoned Dr Verma to the office of the ACB in Khanija Bhavan on Race Course Road here. Officials posed some questions to Verma and obtained his response. Verma was in the office for about two hours, during which period he said he had gifted the controversial wrist watch to Siddaramaiah. Sources said that he also provided bills towards purchase of the watch.

Verma, who attended the questioning session in pursuance to notice served online, reportedly told the officials said that he knows Siddaramiaah since the last 15 years and that both are close to each other. He said because of this affectionate relationship, the watch in question was gifted, and not for any favour in return. He pointed out that he does not have any kind of business dealings in Karnataka and therefore, he had no need to give the wrist watch in return for any favour.

Siddu mite have done a big favor hence this 75lac watch, wonder how much he has got in un accounted cash. And for sure, both the parties would have surely ensured that there are no loop holes for exposure at a later stage.

Since it is a personal gift from a close friend, and this issue of gift is revealed, it need not be the state asset. CM should reclaim it from the State secretariat, because the Donor has gifted it to Donee, his friend, not to CM.
I hope Siddaramayya gets his personal gift back and since the Donor Dr. Girish Verma is in India now, he should help Siddaramayya to get his Precious gift back.

Some Bhakths arguement is, why someone should gift expensive watch to Siddu, they could have donated the money to poor!

Guys, can you stop Dowry system & the same money can be invested in poor?
Can you stop millionire Gujju businessmen, Adani, Ambanis spending crores on rupees on FEKU?

    Mr Sachi.. anada..
There Is no need you advising somebody donate to where and for what, you too have perfect capability to earn like Dr.Varma and Donate where ever you want.. there is habit of people thinking that rich people will work hard and earn and make themselves rich, but people like you think they earn for poor, what a bad mentality. Nobody becomes rich without hard work, please note everybody have chance to be rich in this world.. nowadays it's like a punishment by the authorities in India questioning rich and pressurising them. Nowadays poors are happy with lot of free things from govt (govt does all this for vote bank) since they get free things dey never think about doing hard word.. instead of that let govt teach them how to work and earn good money and lead their life.. instead of pulling money from rich in the name of TAX.. one day even rich will get tired and leave the country it happening and revealed in wikipedia.. so my humble request those who dont have money Don sit and wait for free things.. don't waste your precious time, work hard earn and I rich God has given everybody to be rich.. tell govt pls take back all free things given to us will work hard and will be part of growing economy of the country.. take a example of Switzerland..! Guys don't blame Dr. Verma he has given gift to his friend by his hard earned money, there are many politicians who got gifts from friends.. don't just blame..

My Wife taunted me today….by saying that….see…look at the “Love, Affection & Relationship” of Siddanna and Varma Saab!!!! He got the gift of 84 lakhs wrist watch….and you….still take the calculator whenever I ask something even in “Akshaya Trathiya” day too!!!! May be I missed only three or four “Akshaya Trathiya” gold purchasing ceremony days in my entire 18 years of marriage life but still I regret for those missing years!!!!
