Karkala: Four members of family attempt suicide – Woman dies

Karkala, Jun 17: Four members of a family at Mahalaxmi lane in the town attempted to commit suicide. The woman among them has died in the incident.

Govinda (40), Gauthami (32), Sudarshan (11) and Karthik (7) had consumed poison at late night on Thursday, June 16. They were rushed to Manipal KMC hospital but Gauthami died without responding to treatment.

Govinda and Gauthami are couple. Sudarshan and Karthik are their children. Financial constraints seem to be the reason for the extreme step at the outset.

A police case stands registered at town police station.

    Very sad and heart touching news one does not know what is the real reason for taking this extreme steps may be all doors were closed for them may Almighty give courage and solution to those who survived no to think again taking their own life

    @Jossey Nashville,Jossey,it was not madness.noone will do it out of some madness.They must have seen no other way to get out of their Situation.That can only who has undergone such Situation know.Sad is they have involved their innocent children.They have practically killed them.That was wrong.Now the man has survived,with children.Has most difficult Situation,to answer children,and court.may be have to go tojail.Now?May God give him the necessary strength to overcome his Problems,even financial ,to take care of children.Heartfelt sympathy to the children .

    Suicide is matter of time and situation. At that moment nothing comes in ones mind so they take that step. If he/she survives then in lifetime he will feel shame/guilt for the act he has done.

    No one will ready to give their children to others. And if they give also no one will take the custody without proper reason/investigation.

    Everything is easy to write/tell. But reality is different.

    In today's world when EGO and MONEY rules over humanity and humbleness, be ready to read/hear many more cases like this.

    May the soul of Gouthami rest in peace and may God grant strength to her kids and husband to overcome her loss.

    Govinda & Gauthamis case was sucide while Sudarshan & Karthic case is homicide by parents.

    When couple decided to commit suicide..at least handover children's legally to those who not owned. Childhood couples will look after such childrens better than real parents. Why to kill them.
