Kundapur: Auto rickshaw tumbles - one loses life

Kundapur, Jun 19: A person lost his life after an auto rickshaw tumbled off the road near Alandur on Shirur-Toodalli road near Byndoor on Friday June 17.

The victim has been identified as Rama Marathi (55), who was travelling by the ill-fated three wheeler. When the auto rickshaw went wayward at the road bend here, Marathi suffered deep injuries when the vehicle came to a complete stop after forcibly hitting a tree. He lost his life before medical help could be extended.

Driver of the vehicle, Raju Marathi, and another passenger, Shankarappa, were injured in this incident. Both of them were admitted into a private hospital in the town. A case in this connection was registered in Byndoor police station.
