Bus- car collision at Kolpe - One dies, four seriously injured

Puttur, Jun 19:  A man lost his life on the spot after the car he was travelling collided with a KSRTC bus at Kolpe near Nelyadi on Sunday, June 19. The accident reportedly took place while the car was trying to overtake a lorry. 

Ashok Reddy from Bengaluru is the person deceased. Four others have been seriously injured in the accident.

The bus was heading towards Bengaluru while the car was coming to Mangaluru, it is gathered.

Uppinangadi police visited the spot and have registered the case.

The injured are taking treatment in a Mangaluru hospital.

    by seeing the picture one cannot decide it is bus driver mistake i have been travelling in this route in Govt bus i have observed Govt.bus drivers always alert and keep their speed under control and many a time they avert accidents by their experienced driving skill many time inexperience young drivers risk their lives by using phone, over speeding or over taking without making sure of on coming vehicles. RIP and wishing speedy recovery for those who are injured

    Bus is standing in the wrong lane. Buses and trucks bullying smaller vehicles is the norm on Indian roads. Very sad.

    It's common in karnataka as KSRTC bus drivers thinking they are poilets in road. No traffic rules applicable for them and police are helpless in this issue. People losing life easily because of this.

    Please do not generalise. I travel regularly to Bangalore on either Airavata or Airavata club class. The crew of these KSRTC busses are extremely polite and the drivers too are good. One should not pass judgement looking at the pictures. RIP the deceased and speedy recovery to all the injured.
