Just asking the passenger to change seat for the sake of girls, who are yet to board the bus, can’t be the reason for such a serious assault. There must be other reason why the passenger refused. His traveling till the last stop and getting down on way back indicates he must have got into the bus with some other intention. Police must apprehend the culprits and investigate thoroughly.

Hmm. A 'secular' fight. I am sure politicians will not be interested so much in such secular fights. If the offender was from the majority community, political parties and media would have jumped into it.

There should be zero-tolerance towards "Immoral Rowdyism".

Strict Police action is the need of the hour, regardless of party, religious affiliation, etc. of the wrong-doer.

It is no use blaming others who have migrated to Mangaluru/D.K./Udupi Dt. from other parts of the country, when locals themselves engage in crimes/immoral rowdyism.

Lots of men take advantage of crowded bus and trouble young girls by rubbing against them. This should be stopped By RTO intervening and passing some rule. It's disgusting

bus driver could have observed this guy daily. he knows his attitude very well that's why he told him to sit at other seat. but we people oppose the driver bcoz our own sisters are safe. if it happened with us then we can realise that.

Driver had absolutely no right to ask a passenger to vacate an unreserved seat in the first place!

If he was sure they were subtly taking advantage of girls, he should have taken the help of plain clothes policemen to catch the culprits red handed!

It was wrong on the part of the passenger to attack the driver with the help of goons, brutal assault amounts to attempt to murder!

These type of people should be put behind bars and should beaten left ,right & centre. I see no mistake from the drivers end.The accused should have complained it. It was a minor issue. People taking law in their hands should be taught a lesson. These criminals have to be taught a lesson. I own ten buses which ply on these routes.I have instructed drivers & conductors to tell/inform/request passengers to keep place as i have seen people taking undue advantage of girl students (stickyn rubbing against them, you know what i mean). I have myself requested some men to keep distance as they are kids.

@manoj , mulki . How can u defend the driver here !? , public transport is not school bus and men have right to sit anywhere they want . " stay away from kids " !? , you seem to have demonised every men here , normal brush or touch is accidental in public places, you cannot exaggerate such matters . And u seem to b very silent on women who bully inside the bus . As u own buses my request is to reserve more seats for elderly , or people with infants but not to young healthy school girls or women as they r perfectly able to stand .......

the seats in public transport buses only 4 seats behind driver it is reserved for ladies and naveen has no right to tell nisar not to occupy the seat right side of driver. bcoz nisar is paying and there is no reservation, anybody can sit, i saw some drivers want to see ladies and drive and bcoz of this accidents happen.
if anyone sits in ladies reserved seat why naveen is mum? use ur common sense!!!

people are just commenting by seeing names, all RIP.. Guys what right driver has to ask any passenger not o sit in any seat except 4 seats which has been reserved for ladies. if it was ladies seat yes driver has the right, but this seat driver don't have any right, and why the hell he wants this seat to be reserved for school girls who will board bus from next stop. are these girls his relatives or he wants to pass his time by talking to them.. don't you have some sense while commenting. understand the clear picture before you comment.
same time I condemn assault on driver which is wrong and police will look into the matter.

The seat next to driver above the tool box is of general ( non reserved ) category for both men and women . So guy had every right to sit and #mangina driver had other reason of giving privileges to women . Why this gender discrimination favouring girl passengers !? , so he deserved a lesson for this .

Mr Ravi, Read clearly the full news. How can a driver reserve seats for girl students that too those were not inside bus. Driver wanted to pass his time with school girls so he asked for reservation. this is common with most of the driver and conductors playing with school girls. same time it was wrong from nisar to hit him.

After observing this type of incident daily . Teasing girls etc, some good drivers take precautionary measures. to avoid this he requested, but in turn with rowdies he hit driver badly. if Ullal is in India, strict action has to be taken against these people. No body has no right to take law in to hand. If you have time pls. go Schools, Ullal out side there, u can find these type of people waiting to trouble young girls. local people already complained. Some students were left the school also.
