Rebellion in Congress rages - Other parties extend invitations to join

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jun 21: The rebellion by dropped ministers, who are not only infuriated by the hurt ego because of the tag of inefficiency attached to them, and also egged on by leaders of the communities to which they belong, has been turning for the worse. There has been an effort by about 20 legislator led by Srinivas Prasad and Ambareesh to challenge the chief minister by forming a formidable group of dissatisfied Congressmen.

Sources say that these dropped ministers and those who aspired to become ministers but failed to become so will be meeting within a couple of days to discuss ways and means to tackle the situation. There have been protests at various places by their supporters and leaders of their respective communities, which are also exerting pressure on these leaders to act. At the same time, on behalf of Siddaramaiah, efforts are on to convince the angry leaders about the compulsions for dropping them through legislators loyal to the chief minister like Byrathi Basavaraju and minister, Mahadevappa.

Actor-turned-politician, Ambareesh, is scheduled to address a press conference here on Tuesday June 21. In all likelihood, he may give a tongue-lashing to the government and the chief minister. Although he had tendered his resignation to his MLA's post, through one of his employees, deputy speaker of the assembly, N H Shivashankara Reddy, refused to accept it, as rules stipulate that resignation letter should be handed over personally by the concerned.

The Vokkaliga community is disgruntled over dropping of two ministers from the community, Ambareeh and Kimmane Ratnakar. No Vokkaliga has been given ministerial berth in their places.

As per information, JDS and BJP have extended invitations to both Ambareesh and Srinivas Prasad to join them. There are also rumours that Bahujan Samaj Party has also been trying to take Srinivas Prasad, a dalit, into its fold. Following up Yeddyurappa's telephonic conversation with Prasad, union minister, G M Siddeshwar, MP, Pratap Simha, and former minister, S A Ramdas, met Srinivas Prasad on Monday evening and held discussions. BJP district president, Kote Shivanna, and Yeddyurappa's confidante, Mallikarjunappa, met Prasad separately and held discussions.

JDS supremo, Deve Gowda, and state president, H D Kumaraswamy, had already contacted Prasad over phone to console him. On Monday morning, JDS MLAs, Sa Ra Mahesh and S Chikkamadu, met Prasad and held discussions for over 30 minutes. BSP state president, N Mahesh too visited Prasad at his residence and invited him to join his party. It is said that JDS even offered to make him JDS leader.

It is high time Congress toughened their stance against those who grumble against Party decisions.
If those who are not satisfied\disgruntled should be allowed to resign from the Party. Useless to have such people who threaten the Party.

Ministers like Ambareesh who always want to be in the limelight not for their good work but for his reputation as actor should go. Congress Party, right now badly needs performers who will bring back the voters and not these power hungry Party Cadres.
Revamp the party with many young eligible youths with modern ideas.
This should have been done long time back or at least after the debacle in last LS. For public it looked like Congress had given up...
Instead of holding on and strengthening the Government in Karnataka, these power hungry Ministers\ MLAs etc. are trying dismantle the Government\ Party.
    Just let them go...

New wave of 'operational kamala' is begin.

In the last election political opportunist former Yeddyurappa KJP spoiled the BJP chances along with the resort politics run on Reddy sponsorship.
We have a PM who keeps tom-tomming about probity and then you see… allegedly the most tainted people being appointed BJP state presidents.

Is it not a fact that when Yeddyurappa was CM, Lokayukta found him guilty? Is it not a fact that he had to resign?

The ministry should be offered to a person with respect to his qualification and experience.

If they are true leader and loyal to the party ethics they will stay and try hard.

If they crossed over it is just considered as political opportunism.Which will have only limited days.

These minister won election from Congress party. People voted them not because of their achievements, but they wanted congress to rule the state. If they want to revolt, let them resign from their Assembly seat and contest election again from the new party whichever it is..let public decide.

SOME guys never learn!! the party is facing its toughest challenge across the nation & here in karnataka these men simply pouring kerosene to burning house.
1ST they fight for MLA ticket.. then for minister berth then for plum post then for CM post!! they are forever unhappy never satisfied no matter how much you give.. its just greed greed & more greed.
DO you've to become minister to serve the people( if thats what you want to do sincerely) without being minister cant you serve people? party has made you MLA its more than a huge opportunity you are well paid your entire family is taken care by our hard earned tax.what else you guys want? how many crores are enough for you?be happy that at least you are chosen as MLA.state population is apprx 6.5 crore & only 225 out of them can become MLA isn't that great!aren't you happy of that huge honour.but look at you how shamelessly you guys insulting yourself & the people who elected you.its such a disgusting behaviour.
THERE are millions who are serving people without ever being in govt not a minister..not a MP/MLA.just learn from them.for a change do some positive work for the people, their blessing is billion times better than any ministerial post, money & power.

Hats off to CM Siddaramayya for dropping some useless ministers from the cabinet. They were enjoying all the facilities. One minister's big medical bill(Singapore hospital) of more than crore was paid by tax payers money. No minister belong to film industry alone as he was elected by the people. Some ministers are so sick, they cant even walk or talk properly.People of Karnataka should be united and support CM Siddaramayya, instead of those corrupt and useless ministers.Shameless former ministers organise agitations, causing loss to the public properties.
