Future of cinema is internet movies, says Kangana Ranaut

Mumbai, Jun 23 (IANS): Actress Kangana Ranaut feels the future of cinema lies in making short films for the digital medium.

At the launch of Shirish Kunder's short film "Kriti", Kangana said: "It's hard to make a short film. I myself have made a short film ('The Touch') and it's difficult."

"Everything is becoming smaller and smaller and I feel the future of cinema is internet movies. The two-and-half-hour film (culture) is not the future... Future is online and the sooner we catch that, we won't be lagging behind."

"Kriti" is written and directed by Shirish Kunder. It features Manoj Bajpayee, Radhika Apte and Neha Sharma in lead.

Manoj said: "Internet is a bigger and wider medium and we should explore it. I want to get used to it as it gives freedom to experiment and challenges us to explore characters that we don't get to play in feature films."
