Thousands bid teary eyed adieu to eight little angels of Trasi tragedy

Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (EP)

Kundapur, Jun 23 : There were tears in thousands of eyes in between drizzle. Parents were weeping with recollecting the joy and sorrow when their children were alive. They had come to bid final adieu to their children who they knew will never come back. People forgetting differences of religion, caste and creed were praying that such an incident may never recur. There were hymns singing that the souls of young children may rest in peace. This was the scene at Immaculate Conception Church in Gangolli on Thursday, June 23.

The last rites of Celista and Clarissa, children of Muvathumudi residents presently employed in Dubai Steven and Rita Olivera, Ancita and Alvita, children of Alwyn and Reshma Olivera, Delvin Dais, son of Vinod Dais and Desny Dais was held during noon. There was gloom when teary eyes bid farewell to the children.

The bodies were brought from their respective residences in procession via Mullikatte, Trasi and Gujjadi road to the church. People who stood by the side of the road were found wiping tears. Once all the five bodies were brought to the Church, Bishop DR Jerald Isaac Lobo offered Holy Mass.

Kundapur church priest Fr Anil D' Souza gave a homily. Religious prayers and hymns were said for nearly one and a half hour. Nearly five thousand people were present in the church premises. The bodies of all the five children were buried in the same grave. The cries of the families of children were heart- rending. A hymn with the theme “We have offered Your children to You.” was sung.

Church parish priest and vice president of parish pastoral council,Jerald Crasta offered eulogy. Udupi Chikkamagaluru constituency MP Shobha Karandlaje, Vidhana Parishat member Ivan D' Souza, Udupi district SP Annamalai, Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, state children's rights commission member Dr Vanitha Thoravi, parish priests of various parishes and people representatives of Kundapur taluk were present. There was no room for religion, caste, language and status there. Only tears could be seen among those who were present. There were chants praying that the children may be born again. Traders in Thrasi, Mullikatte and Gujjadi voluntarily downed their shutters.

Funeral of other three children held at Tallur

Kundapur, Jun 23: The funerals of school children Nikitha and Ananya, daughters of Katbelthur resident Loyd D’ Silva and Royston, son of Hemmady resident Vinod Lobo who had died in the tragic road accident near Movady cross, near Trasi on Tuesday, June 21 were held in Tallur church on Thursday June 23 evening.

Bishop of Udupi diocese Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo conducted the religious rites. Kundapur zonal priest Fr Anil D’ Souza, Tallur church parish priest Fr John Walter Mendonca and priests who had arrived from different parishes in the area participated in the prayers.

People were allowed to pay their last respects after the religious ceremony was completed in the church.

Byndoor MLA K Gopala Poojary, District SP Annamalai, DySP M Manjunath Shetty, district home guards second in command Rajesh K C paid their last respects. Taluk panchayat member H Raju Devadiga, Circle inspector Diwakar P M, Sub inspectors Nasir Husain, Sunil Kumar, Tallur grama panchayat president Ananda Poojary and others were present.

Traders in Tallur closed their shutters as a mark of grief for the children who died in the accident. Local schools held silent prayers for the souls of departed children.

it is really sad to see this little kids die. 8 of them in a single tragic accident. POLICE NEVER CONTROL BUS DRIVERS. THEY THINK THAT ROAD BELONGS TO THEM. THEY CAN DRIVE IN ANY MANNER. NO ONE IS THERE TO CONTROL THEM. THEY CAN ASK THE PRIVATE BUSES TO PUT THE SPEED GOVERNORS. SPEED CONTROL AND STOPPING OF RECKLESS DRIVING BY THE PRIVATE BUSES. IS NEED OF THE HOUR.
I THINK THIS IS THE BIGGEST TRAGEDY, FOR THESE KIDS IN THIS COASTAL AREA.
MAY THE LORD JESUS. & MOTHER MARY GRANT CONSOLING PEACE TO THESE FAMILIES. WHICH THESE FAMILIES WILL NEVER FORGET IN THEIR LIFE.

This is the call for police to take a strict action those who are speeding on the road, their should be huge fine to be applied and driver should pay the blood money to the family like Dubai driver has to pay AED 200000 (INR 3650000), then only driver will be afraid and they will drive slowly.

Praying for the families of these beautiful souls now resting with our Lord in Heaven. God knows the best for all of us. His plans n ways we can never understand, deep sorrow that has now filled your lives, will one day be replaced with surreal joy when you meet them in Heaven!!
Till then, remember that people around the globe are praying for you. Your angels in Heaven comfort you. They live on, you just cannot see them.
Hard to believe, but we all must, that none of us here will live permanently. Our jobs done, we will be called back. These angels finished theirs, they have gone back Home to live forever.
God bless each of us who now live with this sorrow n pain!
May we learn to accept His will in our lives.

Most saddest day. 8 Little Angels are gone into Heaven to be with God and Angels. The Curse of this tragedy will be on People who did not care about anything, Now all are crying.
I am always in touch with Traffic Police or Crime Police of the area when I see these vehicles of CURSE,in violations of Law. I have Dial Numbers of every Police Station in Mangalore Area.

Just today a private Bus no 42,Licence Plate 4959 was following School Bus very closely. School Bus belongs to Presidency School. Halfway between Mahaveera Circle and Kankanady Circle,School Bus stopped by the side of road next to the parked Cars to the Children. Immediately Rowdy Bus driver started to blow the Horn non stop for 10 minutes. I was very close to this incident as I was installing "NO Park" board for the safety of Public. The Children got panicked which I could see on their faces. They were scared thinking what is happening. They might have heard about 8 Children death. I consoled them not to worry.

Immediately, I got in touch with Inspector Suresh Kumar of Kadri East Traffic. He got in touch with right People and instructed them to stop the bus and impose heavy fine. There were hundreds in that area who watched the Bus driver's show but did nothing about it. I felt that I will do everything for the Safety of Children who are future of the World.
I request everyone of You to join Me and get tough with these Rowdy Bus drivers.

Let us stop their speed and horn plus Rowdy behavior. Thanks to all of you.

Un imaginable and huge blow to the family. for want of reaching in time 8 is sent forever. 5 secs of a sanity could have had these children kicking and jumping with joy instead of lying in the grave which was not meant for them.Send them back to this world again oh. lord.

The children are the heroes. They have united humanity which is divided on religion. They have proved we are first human beings and then Christians, Hindus, Muslims.....Let humanity live in this world. Let the children live forever.

it is gods plan, we are no one to question him, let his wish be done. children are the gift to their parents from god, and they are gods property and whenever he wants he will take
