Bengaluru, Jun 23 : Ace leg-spinner Anil Kumble’s selection as coach of Indian Cricket Team has been warmly welcomed by Karnataka BJP President B S Yeddyurappa in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Warmly congratulating Kumble, theformer Chief Minister said, the legendary cricketer’s dedication and commitment would help in encouraging Team India to reach greater heights.

"By his remarkable and unparalleled achievements in the field of cricket as a player, bowler and captain of Indian Cricket team, Kumble has become a legend in his own lifetime,’’ Yeddyurappa said in a congratulatory message.

The Stare BJP Chief said Kumble has endeared himself to millions of cricket fans in India, especially Karantaka, with his dignified conduct and gentlemanly behaviour and has earned a large following across the country, he said.

"I have no doubt by his perseverance and thorough professionalism Kumble would be able to take Indian Cricket team to new heights of glory. I wish him all the best,’’ Yeddyurappa said.

He said Kumble’s selection as acoach of Indian Cricket Team has made people of Karnataka and cricket lovers of the State proud.
