Udupi, Jun 23: Newly chosen minister for fisheries and youth empowerment and district in-charge minister of Udupi district, Pramod Madhwaraj was accorded a grand felicitation from Udupi block Congress committee and the party supporters at Town Hall Ajjarkad on Thursday June 23.
After receiving the honour, MLA Pramod Madhwaraj said, “Before gracing the minister’s post, when I was just an MLA. I have always got good support from Udupi Constituency. Public from various religions, caste and creed have voted for me. I follow the principles of Dr B R Ambedkar and Brahma Sri Narayanaguru who worked for the development of the deprived classes.”
“I have given a corruption free and clean administration which I had promised. The rumours about I giving money to get minister’s post is false. I thank party president Sonia Gandhi and Chief Minister Siddaramaih for giving such a wonderful opportunity to serve people. I will put my best efforts for developing Udupi district. I have taken the oath in the name of God. According to that, I will work for justice without discriminating people on the basis of caste and religion. I will work as a public servant throughout my tenure.” Madhwaraj added.
“Congress party has given opportunities for a fisherman for the first time in state history. I hail from fisherman’s family. As a minister for youth services, I will work as per the expectation of public. Nearly 70% of the youth in the nation belong to age group between 30-35 years. I will develop sports field and bring newness in the sports department. I will work for the integrated development of district,” he added.
Satish Amin Padukere, president of block Congress Udupi welcomed the gathering.
