Bengaluru: Former BJP MLA's wife alleges he beat her up in police station

Bengaluru, Jun 23 (PTI) : The wife of a former BJP MLA today alleged that her husband beat her up inside a police station here for asking why he was not coming home for the last six months.

She also alleged that her husband was having an affair with another woman but said she "wanted him to come out of it".

Former Mudigere MLA M P Kumaraswamy's wife Savita, her mother and brother today came to meet him at the Legislators Home. Soon after, an argument erupted between the husband and wife outside the Legislators Home, following which police took them to a nearby police station.

Coming out of the police station, Savita told reporters "he beat me up inside the police station in front of police. I came here to ask him about his activities. I came to request him to come back home and lead a life with me."

She said she was not filing any complaint as it was a family matter.

"He left home on January 1...he has not come back yet. I want him back, I want him to leave that woman and lead a life with me," she added.

Savita said he had left home after she questioned him about an audio recording of him talking to another woman.

Officials said they had referred Savita to 'Vanitha Sahayavani' (woman's helpline) after their attempts to mediate failed and she refused to file any complaint against her husband.

In his defence, Kumaraswamy said, "It is a family dispute, we will sort it out."

Asked why he had not gone home for six months, he alleged that she (Savita) had not come to him for eight years.

He termed as false her charges that he had beaten her up and said he would not go with her.

Savita, who later also met City Police Chief Megharikh, said she was still undecided about filing any complaint against her husband and wanted to talk to him first.

Amongst Shri Modi’s long list of electoral lies one that stands out for its blatant opportunism and dishonesty is that of providing safety and security to women.

Since May, when the BJP government came to power, Delhi has witnessed 1221 cases of rape – which means 6-7 rape cases daily. As per government records, 2308 women have been kidnapped/abducted – 12-13 abductions daily and 2576 women have been molested – 14-15 molestations daily. In all, Delhi recorded 8636 cases of crimes against women – nearly 48 cases daily.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is often heard speaking of women's safety, but if a report on sexual abuse cases in Gujarat is anything to go by, the prime minister's home state is not at all safe for women.
The Indian Express reports, "According to a recent status report published by an NGO — Save the Children — over 63 percent girls in Gujarat have reported sexual abuse which is highest in the country."

Now another Kumaraswamy from the same 'Good governance' that promised 'Acche din' and rest found watching explicit videos in the assembly. He is one more addition to the Chumma, raping friend's wife and another one attempting suicide after love, sex aur dhokha.

Beti Bachao Bahu Bachao maha panchayat in UP and wife thrashing at home.

    Sab ka saath,sab ka vikas.

Is he next CM or PM?

I think something wrong with BJPeee people! Always behind women, porn, rape, rave party, cheating of women, murder etc etc!. People, please think all this while voting in next election!. People who have dirt on them are leading and are dreaming of power in state. They have now covered their dirt with paint and claim to be now clean!. It will take just a little wash to remove the paint and expose!

Obviously there's something wrong with the couple. It's evident that some outsiders are behind the wife & must have egged her on just like Anupama Shenoy was.
