Kundapur, June 24: Local young men waylaid Eco vehicle illegally transporting cattle in an inhuman manner at Ellooru on Kollur-Byndoor highway. They rescued the cattle and handed over four suspects in the case to Byndoor police.
The youth in Ellooru vicinity obtained definite clues that cattle are being illegally transported from Halkal near Kollur to Golihole on Thursday evening. They waylaid the vehicle and saved the animals which were suffering.
Byndoor police inspector Santhosh Kaikini took the suspects into custody and calmed down the situation.
Local youth Rajesh Kini said “It is well known that cattle are being ferried here uninterrupted. The innocent animals are being taken in the vehicles in most inhuman way. We have handed over the suspects to the police who should make sure that such incidents do not recur.”
