Kuwait, Nov 10: After the successful celebration of 20th anniversary with ‘Sumadhur Saanz 2007’, Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), the first Mangalorean Catholic association in Kuwait arranged a family day for its members and their family at Mishref Gardens on Friday November 9 at 8 am.

The well arranged programme under the presidentship of Jossy Pinto, Nantoor was really an enjoyable event after a hectic stressful week’s work.  The day was filled with different sports and games activities for all the age categories and gender.

Grand typical Mangalorean lunch with galmbya chutney, polov (mutton-kuvalo), salad, chicken fry, pickle and boiled rice prepared by M and M confectionery and caterers took the memories back to motherland and the taste was appreciated by everyone.  Parish priest Fr Melvyn offered grace before the meal.

Cheerful announcements made by Lancy Rodrigues, Mahesh Prabhu, Rudy and Roshan added extra glow to the event.  Live songs from Lancy, Rudy and Allen cheered the crowd during the breaks.  Housie-housie was arranged after lunch to raise fund for expenses. Pascal Pinto, PRO, proposed the vote of thanks.  At the end of the event, prizes were distributed to the winners.  KCWA trophies were presented to volley ball and throw ball winning teams. The event came to an end at 6 pm with the tug of war.
