Facing the camera didn't feel 'alien' to Zoya Akhtar

Mumbai, June 24 (IANS): "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" director Zoya Akhtar, who recently shot a promo for a channel, says getting in front of the camera was not at all a “harrowing” experience for her, but an easy task.

She shot for the promo of Hollywood movie channel Sony Le PLEX HD.

“Being directed was the easy part as I had a decent communicator. It wasn’t harrowing for me but being made up was the uncomfortable part. It was funny because whoever knew I was doing this, laughed at me,” Zoya said in a statement.

The “Dil Dhadakne Do” is the community ambassador of the channel. She will be seen as a representative of the community that appreciates quality cinema.

Talking abour her association, she said: “I’m talking to people like me and my tribe. Also I’m a big movie buff. I watch one movie at least once a week, so I can understand people who like watching films and I am talking to them.”

The sister of Bollywood's talent house Farhan Akhtar says she didn’t feel like she is doing “some alien job".

"Instead it feels like me," she added.

With an aim to put the spotlight on movies with a strong storyline and content, irrespective of their box office performance, Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited came up with English movie channel, Sony Le PLEX HD.

The channel is slated to be launched with the premiere of Oscar-winning film “Spotlight” in July.
