Bengaluru, Jun 26: Two astrologers who made tall claims about their astrological acumen, fleeced male customers, and also tried to sexually use women who approached them for advice, stand arrested. The self-claimed astrologers, identified as Prathvi and Mohan, who operated their business at Kamalanagar here within Basaveshwara Nagara police station limits, were beaten up by a group of people before handing over to police on Saturday June 25 afternoon.

The above two persons, who wore saffron robes to glorify their presence, had opened 'Chowdeshwari Jyotishya Mandira' in Kamalanagar. They claimed to have been trained by their Guru at Kollegala and that what they predicted always came true. They used to extract money from male customers. But for women, they prescribed procedures like puja in the nude, anointing of entire body by a kind of divine preparation, etc. It is said that many a time they pressurized innocent women for physical relationship.

After many locals faced this problem, a private television channel was informed. The channel secretly filmed the way the astrologers functioned. On Saturday, the locals who barged into the centre supported by various women's organizations, attacked both the selr-claimed astrologers. The astrologers were hit with footwear, their board was thrown away, and they were handed over to police.
