Mangaluru: BJP leader Bhagwan Das threatened with machetes

Mangaluru, Jun 26: Local BJP leader Bhagwan Das was threatened with machetes on Sunday, June 26 at Thokkottu.

Bhagwan Das (40) is the former opposition leader of Ullal Municipality. His friend Prakash (40) was also with him. The incident took place near Rama Bajan Mandir. Sources said that 3 persons came in two bikes to target Bhagwan Das.

It is said that culprits were beaten up by the supporters of Bhagwan Das. One was injured on the head. Yet they managed to flee from the spot.

A case stands registered at Ullal police station.

    This News Looks bit funny for me atleast.Three People came with two bikes to target B.Das.with machetes.and his supporters had beaten the culprits !(who had machetes!)still they fled.is it a cooked up Story?how can one beatup the People who have machetes and bikes?Hope their bike number is being noticed?Now leader have to remain in house ,otherwise next attack may take serious turn.In future he should move about only with Police escort.

    Dakshina Kannada was non-violent. Violence began with the BJP coming to power. Churches were attacked, Muslims were threatened, Dalits were humiliated and the poor were terrorised. Unfortunately the situation has not changed much.
