It is really heart breaking incident and loss of innocent children. We have to blame ourself for not controlling reckless driving by illiterate, crazy drivers. Indian driving and road standards are far behind from International standards. Few years back, when seat belt law was not compulsory, some drivers used to stare, laugh and over take those who were wearing seat belt. They do not know the importance of the seat belt. Coming to road safety, there is no quality roads. We should have a better quality control system and more transparency in allotting contracts.

dev Kumar, What nonsense you are talking about funds!!!? Money spent in 10 years on repair of substandard roads in 5 to 10 years is more than adequate to fulfill what Abdulla , India said! First of all...budget is low for our road and related public works!! Every one of us know that less than 40% is spent on the work and rest goes into pockets of politicians, babus and other so called government officers and clerks. Mostly this is going from middle class citizen...who's children are such victims we are mourning today! Too rich drive safe vehicles or modern city users and too poor are pedestrian or kannada medium neighboring schools....!!!Such unfortunate incidents are forcing common man to repair road by themselves for their and like type people(we have seen several reports in last couple of days...simple people trying to avoid such incidents by repairing roads themselves!!!)
FOR ONCE SACK ALL OUR DK PETTY SWINDLING CONTRACTORS AND INVITE CLOSED BIDS FROM INTERNATIONAL CONTRACTORS AND WE NEED NOT WORRY ABOUT OUR ROAD REPAIRS FOR NEXT TWO DECADES!!! LET OUR CONTRACTORS AND POLITICIANS WHOEVER WANTS KICKBACKS,LET THEM BEG!!! WE NEED BETTER ROADS! Let there be strict training on traffic rules and training to every driver!! Driving license training should be made compulsory to existing and new drivers!! There should be even special training to political bhakthas like Dev Kumar! If it can happen in Europe, West and Middle east, why not in India? We spend more money than them on roads but it goes into some pockets unlike those countries! We can minimize damages this way!! These sorrowful incidents unites us with humanity beyond religion or cast!

Mr. Lobo and Mr. Oscar....you took a long time to visit the families of the bereaved. Almighty will definitely will give the strength to bear the loss of their loving children. But you have visited the families for your own political benefit and I am sure the government will never care about such incidents.

Its really heart wrenching to see the smiling faces of those innocent kids.

This accident could have been averted if those drivers would have followed traffic rules and would have undergone proper training. But sadly our RTA wont hesitate to issue a license to even blind men as long as they pay.

Anyways, May god comfort these kids in heaven and may their soul rest in peace.

    Dear Oscar,
I don't think you helped anybody before,But now it is time to show your credibility to show your full support (not by word) to the families who lost their beloveds and take action to make road safer to drive, and punish the people who are making money in the name road.

    To all DW Readers,
Oscar and JR are supposedly good Christians and people too(public opinion).
I met Oscar In AICC office recently and he was what i would say a pleasant personality .

Come on ! .We dont want we will look into the matter and contemplating to take action . This inst designing a new mode of transportation .
There is nothing to contemplate . What powers are bestowed within the norms of a Judical Magistrate or a law maker , pass a resolution that vehicles that ply with erstwhile DK transporting public in general shall not exceed 60 KMPH or even 55 KMPH
    SIMPLE .
If you want to reach earlier, get up earlier, prepare and leave in time .
Misfortune/accidents cannot be controlled. It is tragic for the parents involved, but lip service inst serving the cause.
Put your appointed posts to use.
Banning tempos, pvt buses within city,Managalore manipal, kundapur wont serve the purpose and will also lead to ruckus and loss for someone else .
As a student that travelled between Mangalore and manipal , i can assure you that all buses average a good 70 kmph to cover a distance of the same amount, means that peak speeds exceed 100 kmph .. Can you really control a bus at 100 kmph within seconds ?

Get construction companies undertaking work to use florescent signage of dimensions as per global standards.
The road work has been going on forever with no government pressure .
Come on Mr. Oscar and Mr. JR Lobo make a call . Get speed restrictions in till you can get your MCC and other local bodies to discuss the same .
We the public want to see results. Not sympathy .
To the parents forgive me for my candour .Heart felt sympathies . No other person on this planet can feel your pain as parents .

but action needs to be taken by the district administration and ownership .

our heart breaks while looking at the face of these kids.god only knows how many days it will take for the parents to come out of this trauma.they should only believe the words jesus spoke near the grave of lazarus, and must think nothing has happened in their family without jesus knowledge, and should use their wisdom why god chose only 8 and not all?because he loved them and he was looking for these 8 angels in his garden. they are not dead but they watch and pray for us especially for their families. when a person dies in a family we should be sure that one angel is created from our side in heaven.if the parents think like this very soon they will come out of this trauma!! MR.oscar and MR lobo if u r seriously thinking for the children please totally ban omni like vehicles in carrying children

The parents look like very poor and humble people.

I don't think the government may provide sufficient help to them to come out from this great trauma / tragedy without some help.

My humble suggestion to daijiworld to put forward a request for help in the daijiworld web portal so that generous readers around the world may give some smile and solace on the face of the deceased children's parents.

we appreciate our political leader's and minister's visit to deceased children family. but this is not enough they should take the proper measure to avoid such accidents in future. strict action/law to such drivers who break traffic rules and arrange to make to stop the manufacturing omni car which is unsafe to travel in highways and main roads.the lovely faces of these children will be in our heart for the long time.

let us pray the almighty, give courage to the parents/relatives of the children to live without them.
