Unable to meet SP, Kapil Mohan drops strange powder at Lokayukta office

Bengaluru, Jun 28 (DHNS) : The Lokayukta police went into a tizzy on Monday when senior IAS officer Kapil Mohan reportedly dropped some ‘powder’ in front of the chambers of IGP Pronab Mohanty and SP Abdul Ahad. Kapil Mohan, who is facing a disproportionate assets (DA) case, had gone to the office of the Lokayukta police, after a notice was issued to him.

Sources said that Mohan, who is presently chairman of Karnataka Appellate Tribunal, was asked to file a reply before June 23 pertaining to the DA case. The notice was sent to him on June 7, 2016. He had gone to the Lokayukta office at around 1.45 pm and wanted to meet SP (rural) Abdul Ahad. Since both the IGP and the SP were in a meeting at ADGP Dr S Parashivamurthy’s chambers, the staff asked him to wait outside the SP’s chamber on the fourth floor. According to a few staff, Mohan felt uncomfortable. While going out, he strew some ‘powder’ outside the SP’s chambers. While walking towards the elevator, he again dropped the same material outside the IGP’s chambers too.

The powder also had small glass pieces. The Lokayukta police have collected the material and sent it to the Forensic Science Laboratory. The police are also gathering CCTV footage to verify the entry and exit of Mohan. Sources said that the officer had not made an entry in the register while entering the office. However, around 3.30 pm, a staffer from Mohan’s office came there, made an entry in the register and handed over a letter to the Lokayukta police. In the letter, Mohan stated that he had visited the office as per the notice, but returned finding no one in the office of the SP.

The Lokayukta police had registered an FIR against Mohan and his wife Dr Richa Saxena in the DA case in September 2015, following a government order.

He left a proof that he visited the office asp the notice and no officers were there. Instead he should have bought roses and left on the table of the officer.

In this he may be booked under Swach Bharath case for spilling the dirt.
