Kundapur, Jun 30: There was a collision between a private bus named Someshwar and an auto in front of Hemapura math at Hemmadi on NH 66 on Wednesday night, June 29. The driver of the auto had a miraculous
escape.
Katbelthur resident Robert Mendonsa (55) running his auto on hire at Hemmadi stand was traveling in his auto from Hemmadi to Mullikatte.
Meanwhile the bus approaching from Byndoor to Kundapur hit the auto. The front portion of the auto which was broken in the impact had got stuck in the front portion of the bus and local people had to
struggle hard to pull it out. The auto driver had injured his head and legs and was taken to Manipal for treatment.
Local auto driver and social activist Ravi K Hemmadi and team made way for the traffic during the accident. Police have seized the bus. A case is registered at Kundapur traffic police station.
