Mangaluru, Jun 30: It was a miraculous escape for the driver and passengers as the speeding car jumped off the road and landed into a gorge after colliding with the footpath and demolishing a tree near Thannirbavi in the morning on June 30.
It is said that three persons were travelling along with a woman in the car that met with the accident near New Mangaluru Port Trust guest house. Locals said that the driver of the car was hurt and the occupants of the car fled from place leaving the car. It looked like a real miraculous ‘escape’ for them.
As per the dealer who supplies tender coconuts to the shops there, the car with Delhi registration had overtaken their vehicle in high speed in spite of the speed breakers. The accident happened 50 meters away from a speed breaker.
