Abu Dhabi, Jul 1: In a sad incident, a lady from Bengaluru died reportedly due to tyre burst while travelling to Sharjah by car on the night of Thursday June 30.

The deceased has been identified as Savitha Thirumalesh (40).

Savitha was working for Abu Dhabi National Hotels as HR assistant, while her husband and son stayed back in Bengaluru. Her husband had come to Abu Dhabi twice in search of a job, but in vain.

Sources said that Savitha had been trying to get her husband and son to the UAE, but could not, and was planning to return to Bengaluru to be with them.

It is said that she used to visit her cousin in Sharjah every Thursday.

While travelling to Sharjah by taxi, the tyre near the front passenger seat where Savitha was sitting burst, which led to her death, sources said. Three other passengers who were in the rear seat and the taxi driver escaped with minor injuries.

Savitha was a talented throwball player and was in the Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi team.

Expressing condolences, president of Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi Sarvotham Shetty told daijiworld, "We lost a humble and talented throwball player, as well as a kind and soft-spoken human being."
