CM wants Ivan D’ Souza to be chief whip amid opposition

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, Jul 2: There is intense competition among the Congress party MLCs to obtain the position of chief whip in the Vidhana Parishat (Legislative Council) that is vacated after the retirement of R V Venkatesh.

Nominated member MLC Ivan D’ Souza, Raghu Achar and Narayana Swamy from local constituency, Srinivasa Mane from teachers’ constituency are competing for the post of the chief whip.

The Council session will start on July 4 and the position needs to be filled by then. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah wants to appoint nominated member Ivan D’ Souza for the post. There is strong opposition for it from MLCs elected from local and teacher’s constituencies. In the circumstances, it may be necessary to sort the matter out with the intervention of high command, it is believed.

Ivan D'Souza

Fourteen people had won from local and teachers constituencies. Those fourteen members have sent a letter signed by all of them to Congress chief Dr G Parameshwar with a copy to central AICC requesting to appoint any one of them for the post. They have urged that the nominated member should not be appointed for the post equivalent to cabinet minister.

Mr Alphonso, your quote “ your pilgrimage expenses to a foreign country too is fully paid “”” Do not make such bullshit and lie statements…. Are you sure that the pilgrimage expenses are FULLY paid…. Open your eyes…..a portion of the air ticket is subsidized .Many requests were made to 56” FEKU to cancel the subsidy, but he is sleeping, since in the name of subsidy, the govt can loot the pilgrims and AIR INDIA can survive…..

When Ivan was ed to become MLC, I thought that it is purely by influence. However, I found that he is with the people and fight for the right causes. I think Ivan has taken up many issues related to Gulf Mangaloreans. If he become the Chief Whip, we can expect many developments in Mangalore. All the best Ivan.

Come on Mohd. We all know who has been pampered the most by the Cong. Look at the Bhagyas and the benefits announcement. Int free loans, defaulters are exempted and outstanding waived. Moreover your pilgrimage expenses to a foreign country too is fully paid, with one of the 'Sachivas' come to see you off from the Aiport.

Jacob, Alphonso... No one is questioning his ability,,,, but check his performance when he was the President of Auto drivers in Mangalore.....during his period, one auto driver robbed one family in the early morning with jewels worth 3 lakhs.... What was Ivan's efforts/ contribution in identifying the chor/ daku auto driver ??????... If he has done anything to identify the daku driver among his FAMILY of DRIVERS, then we can appreciate.....Such silence, encourages the auto drivers..to loot / ROB the poor passengers....This is the achievement of IVAN....
