ICAI Udupi observes ‘CA-day celebration-2016’

Udupi, Jul 2: SIRC, the city's branch of the Institute of Charted Accountants of India observed ‘CA-day celebration-2016’ at Nutana Ravindra Mantap, MGM College, here on Friday July 1.



























Prof Madhusudhan Bhat, principal of UPMC addressing the programme said, "CA is a very tough subject and one needs to work hard in order to pass the exam. Passing this exam is a big achievement. CA degree is based on skill whereas other degrees are based on marks or merit. The scholars of ancient times can be termed as accountants of the modern era. Proficiency can be achieved through a comprehensive study material which is provided only in the CA course."

Senior charted accountants were felicitated on the occasion.

ICAI organized various programmes on the celebration day, namely:
Green walkathon/ Swacch Bharat Abhiyan launched by the CMC commissioner, Manjunatayya.
A saplings plantation programme organized to mark the CA day.
A blood donation camp inaugurated by the chief of the KMC Manipal blood bank, Dr Shamee Shastri.
Members of ICAI visited Asha Nilaya, a school for specially abled children and distributed clothes. They had lunch with the inmates. Dr G Shankar was the chief guest here.

The day wound up with ‘Yakshagana’, a cultural programme performed by Anantha Yakshakala Pratishtana, Kolagi lead by Kolagi ‘Keshav Hedge’.

Vice president Surendra Nayak, treasurer Mahendra Shenoy, student's union president Narasimha Naik, Pradeep Jogi were present.

Ganesh B Kanchan, president of ICAI Udupi branch welcomed the gathering. Secretary Rekha Anand proposed the vote of thanks.
