Leonardo DiCaprio was originally cast in 'Baywatch'

Los Angeles, July 2 (IANS): Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio was originally cast as David Hasselhoff's son in the original "Baywatch" TV series, producers Michael Berk and Douglas Schwartz have revealed.

DiCaprio was just 15 years old when he auditioned for the role, but Hasselhoff nixed the actor for the part, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

"We actually had DiCaprio ready to be cast," Berk said.

"But David thought he was too old to play his son. David thought it would make him look older. He had a lot of concerns of that type," Schwartz added.

The part eventually went to Brandon Call in season 1, who was replaced by Jeremy Jackson for eight seasons.
