Modi to meet India's Rio Olympic-bound athletes


New Delhi, July 3 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet India's Rio Olympic-bound athletes here on Monday, an official said.

Modi will meet the Olympic contingent at the Manekshaw Centre here, a statement issued here said on Sunday. 

So far, around 100 athletes from 13 sports disciplines have qualified for the Rio Olympics.

Modi will interact with the sportspersons and wish them well for their performance in the world's biggest sporting arena, the statement added.

Over 200 nations will be participating in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, scheduled to begin on August 5.
