Anton Yelchin's death absolutely devastating: Zachary Quinto

Los Angeles, July 3 (IANS): Actor Zachary Quinto paid tribute to his “Star Trek” co-star Anton Yelchin, saying his death is a "devastating loss" to the world.

Quinto opened up about the demise of Yelchin in an episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, reports dailymail.co.uk.

Yelchin, 27, died last month after his Jeep Grand Cherokee pinned him against a brick mailbox and a security fence at his home here.

Quinto shared that he is still trying to come to terms with it.

He said: “Oof, absolutely senseless. Beautiful guy. I don't even know how to talk about it. We already knew that this would be a bittersweet experience because of the loss of Leonard (Nimoy) last year, but this has just been absolutely devastating for all of us.”

Quinto and Yelchin collaborated on three “Star Trek” films over the last nine years.

“I think our goal has to be to just celebrate his incredible life and honour him as much as we can. It was a terrible loss not only to us personally, but I think to the industry and audiences. He was such a talent,” Quinto added.

"Star Trek Beyond", the third instalment of the "Star Trek" reboot series, is set to release in India in English and Hindi on July 22.
