Virat Kohli & Co bond over 'jam session' with Vasundhara Das

Bengaluru, Jul 3 (PTI) : New coach Anil Kumble has brought a refreshing change in preparations of the Indian cricket team as the members had a unique team bonding session with acclaimed actor-musician Vasundhara Das's group 'Drumjam'.

In a what can be termed as a first in Indian cricket team's team bonding exercise, the senior players along with skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the 'A' team players like Varun Aaron enjoying a jam session, where they were all seen playing drums with Vasundhara and her musical group.

BCCI released a picture of the Indian team members enjoying a musical session with Vasundhara, who has also acted in critically acclaimed films like Hey Ram (with Kamal Hassan) and Mira Nair's Monsoon Wedding.

What the Indian team did today was called 'Drum Circle'. It is an activity where "a group of people seated in a circle, plays drums together".

'Drum Circle' is considered to be a rhythm based activity, which is a "great way to communicate, team building, transcending barriers, improves group communication and harmony, a sense of belonging, stress-relief, discovering creativity, Energising participants, Improving focus".

The initiative was an extension to the various team building activities that Kumble has introduced, including 'Buddy Project', where players are split into groups of two with a senior player explaining his experiences in the cut-throat world of international cricket to a junior player.

Why we should pay lot of attention to these Cricketers and Cine actors. They do all these "Nautankis" to earn more money. We should concentrate more on our duty rather than wasting valuable time in paying attention to then.

Dev,your comments are only good for religion and politics.
This is not your cup of tea.
Donkey also works hard and it can not be horse.
The modern techniques like this would develop team spirit.
For example in a live band ,every instrument and person important to make a song complete.
What Kumble trying to do is apply scientific methods to develop team spirit. It also purifies the mind.
There are several other techniques are used to improve 'sense of belongingness'which is important for any team building.
    Please think before comment.

You mean without practice they will face west indies. Hope not even bangladeshis beat india like drum.
That's the reach people not happy to handover coach to southies. They are apply only old tradition play like mara kothie or kesaru chellata.
Many good coach was around like Lalchand Rajput who once playing opening batsman. Latter on playing for county in scotland. Latter on become coach for under 19. Kumble even do not know to speak hindi..deserted even by shobhana..kargha peene.
