Eshwarappa complains to BJP top brass as Yeddy forms disciplinary committee

Daijiworld Media Network-Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Jul 4: Senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa, who had gone to New Delhi to complain against the 'irregularities' in the appointment of district party chiefs of BJP, on Sunday July 3, said that the party top brass "is aware of the discontent over the style of functioning of state party president B S Yeddyurappa."

Eshwarappa said that the leaders he met in New Delhi have promised to resolve the problems soon. He had met the party national general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal and deputy general secretary B L Santosh at the party headquarters.

“I have explained to them the developments in the state BJP. They said they are aware of the matter and will talk to Yeddyurappa to resolve the matter." Eshwarappa added.

B S Yeddyurappa & K S Eshwarappa

Eshwarappa said his only intention to complain was to protect the interests of loyal party workers who have been hurt by the decision of Yeddyurappa.

Eshwarappa also said that he properly explained how former Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) loyalists were favoured during the appointment. He said he insisted that the 'injustice' should be rectified, by appointing loyal party workers.

Senior BJP leaders from the state including Nirmal Kumar Surana, Shivayogi Swami and Bhanuprakash had accompanied Eshwarappa during his meeting with party leaders.

“Whoever crosses the party line, irrespective of the post they hold, should be punished,” he said reacting to the news of Yeddyurappa forming disciplinary committee.

“The next Assembly elections will be faced under the leadership of Yeddyurappa. To ensure the party’s victory, he should take all leaders together,” Eshwarappa said.

Yeddyurappa constitutes 5-member disciplinary panel

Meanwhile B S Yeddyurappa set up a five-member disciplinary committee in the wake of a section of leaders raising 'objection' to his way of functioning especially the appointment of district party chiefs.

C M Udasi, MLAs B N Vijayakumar and Shashikala Jolle and MP P C Mohan are the members of the committee headed by former party MLC N Shankarappa.

Majority of these members are said to be close to Yeddyurappa. The committee was set up on Sunday, a day after Yeddyurappa had warned the dissidents about the discipline in the party in a party meeting by saying “Stern measures will be taken against them.”
