Southern cinema's 'mega' clan on remake spree

Chennai, Jul 4 (IANS): What's the common link between megastar Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan, besides the fact that they are related? All of them are currently working on remakes.

Chiranjeevi is currently busy shooting for tentatively titled Telugu action-drama "Kathilantodu", which is the official remake of Tamil film "Kaththi".

"Chiranjeevi is making a comeback after a long hiatus, and the makers wanted to choose a tried-and-tested project instead of risking with an original script. 'Kaththi' has all the mass-appealing elements and its remake should be perfect for Chiranjeevi," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.

Pawan Kalyan is all set to start working on the Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster "Veeram".

"I liked the script of 'Veeram'. However, I felt it needed to be tweaked for Telugu audiences," Kalyan had told IANS.

Ram Charan's upcoming Telugu actioner "Dhruva" is the remake of Tamil film "Thani Oruvan".
