Modi meets Indian contingent for Rio Olympics


New Delhi, July 4 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met the athletes who will be representing India at the forthcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and wished them the very best.

The Prime Minister shook hands with the sportspersons and wished them the very best for their performance at an event at the Manekshaw Centre here.

So far, around 100 athletes from 13 sports disciplines have qualified for the Rio Olympics. 

Over 200 nations will be participating in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, scheduled to begin on August 5.
