Throughout the career, he has be an able and beloved teacher, loved person and an organizer. He has worked keenly for the development and progress of the institute. I profusely thank him for his work and service to all.”

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Lawrence D’Souza said “Dr Neri has been globally visual person and at the same time locally been active to the society. He has been always dynamic working and inspiring others to do work. Ramachandra on other hand has worked hard quietly. Both might have retired today but they seem to be far away from being tired for anything. I wish them both a happy retired life."

Bishop Dr Gerald narrated a small incident where Dr Neri had come for an interview for the post of lecturer at St Mary’s College Shirva, many years back. He and his board were impressed by his method of teaching and had appointed him later on.

“Back then, I did not know that I would be happy enough to participate in the retirement function of Dr Neri today. Milagres College Kallianpur, the name is enough to say the glory of the college. Many great souls have worked for bringing up the name of the school. Dr Neri is one of the proud persons to be involved in bringing up the name of the institute,.” the bishop said.

“A role of the principal keeps growing day by day. He does not remain just a principal to a institute but become a PRO ‘Personal relations Officer’. Then he has to sustain good relations with his students, faculty, parents, society and more. He is the key person who takes the institution to the destined course,” he added.

“On the other hand Ramachandra, though has been working quietly inside the four walls, has jointly associated with the retired Dr Neri in betterment of the college’s fame. I wish them both a blessed and happy retirement life. And through their experience let them support the college occasionally.” the bishop concluded.

Dr Neri thanked each and every single person for their co operation and timely support. He said “I am in a state of mixed feelings of being elated, honoured and desolated. Elated and honoured because I’m retiring from my services and I have been satisfied by my responsibility as a principal,”

“Desolated because, I will be missing the company of my beloved staff and students. Throughout my profession I have never compromised with the discipline. I know that I have given my best and have done justice to my profession. I thank Bishop Gerald for guiding me to take up political Science as a subject over Economics, when I had joined St Mary’s. I thank my Milagres institute which has also been my alma mater.” Dr Neri added.
